Thanks for helping the turtle . Now, a little tip . The common snapping Turtle can get you if you grab it from the sides like that. And it’s strong. Also the claws . A better option is grab the tail —but — don’t just swing them by the tail as this hurts and alarms the turtle, instead lift by the tail but support under the plastron ( belly plate ) with the other hand from between the hind legs . This tends to reduce alarm in the turtle and is less traumatic all around.

This reminds me of murtle......the snapper thats crossed my street for years except shes a alligator snapper that can't snap back like that......but its crazy, the whole neighborhood looks out for murtlle😂
