*WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE THAT?*
i'm a vtuber.
A VTuber (ブイチューバー, BuiChūbā), or virtual YouTuber (Japanese: バーチャルユーチューバー, Hepburn: bācharu YūChūbā), is an online entertainer who uses a virtual avatar generated using computer graphics. Real-time motion capture software or technology are often—but not always—used to capture movement. The digital trend originated in Japan in the mid-2010s, and has become an international online phenomenon in the early 2020s.[1] A majority of VTubers are English and Japanese-speaking YouTubers or live streamers who use avatar designs. By 2020, there were more than 10,000 active VTubers.[2] Although the term is an allusion to the video platform YouTube, they also use websites such as Niconico, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, and Bilibili.

The first entertainer to use the phrase "virtual YouTuber", Kizuna AI, began creating content on YouTube in late 2016. Her popularity sparked a VTuber trend in Japan, and spurred the establishment of specialized agencies to promote them, including major ones such as Hololive Production, Nijisanji, and VShojo. Fan translations and foreign-language VTubers have marked a rise in the trend's international popularity.[3] Virtual YouTubers have appeared in domestic advertising campaigns, and have broken livestream-related world records.

The unaired pilot of Big Bang Theory was so mean-spirited they had to tone down the character described by test audiences as "that mean blonde bitch" because all the jokes were at the expense of the nerds.

I initially liked it because I thought it was a parody of geek subcultures intentionally made this way. But I found out those people actually thought it was an actual portrayal of it. And I really disliked the cultural influence it had on normies...

I accidentally ruined the show for someone who liked it by explaining that the majority of the jokes are just references that the stereotype nerds rattle off so they can be pointed and laughed at.

The fact that Wil Wheaton was a recurring character should tell you everything you need to know.

I agree why would any "geek" like this? It was quite literally making a massive joke of out everything you loved or cared about. It was designed for jocks to make fun of nerds and their culture. It was the very definition of that "how are you doing fellow kids?" meme.

The issue with big bang theory is that people assume a show about nerds is for nerds. When you remember that its made for a large tv audience it makes a lot more sense.

As a 90s geek who got bullied as a kid … I hate the Big Bang theory tbh

I still don't understand what that target audience of big bang theory was, because every nerd hated that show with a passion

My mom used to call me "her little Sheldon" She has since come around to how terrible the show is, and apologizes all the time for calling me that. But damn man, that show hurt a generation of teenagers.

Date 2008 or so -Be nerd in middle school -Be good at academics. -Like rock music, anime, vidya games, fantasy and sci-fi shiz. -have a few friends with similar interests. - normies know I'm nerd but talk to me like anyone else - Big Bamg Theory becomes real popular. - suddenly normies begin having pseudo nerd talk. - begin telling me thing like "they now understand" or "we get what things must be like for you". -suddenly feeling like tard -Decide to watch BBT to see what it's about. - 3 sec in and I want to push every characters head into a toilet and shove them into a locker. - nerd Chic would only sky rocket from there. - unknowingly adopt Patrick Bateman persona,, despite never watching American Psycho. - continue watching Futurama.

It's funny how when you tell a non-geek about how much BBT sucks and how it makes fun of geeks instead of making fun with geeks, they will look at you like you killed their hamster and insulted their mother and that you don't know what you're talking about.

I once talked to a cop about this and my way of explaining it was that it's about as realistic of a depiction of nerd culture as cop shows are of police officers. She was like "Oh. Oooooooh okay."
