Dear Subscriber,
Thank you for watching our channel. In this series of shorts, we've selected some key soundbites from Professor Robert Lustig's convdersation with Neeku Mahdavian of Emery Pharma.
   • ProfessorĀ RobertĀ Lustig:Ā CanĀ youĀ exerciseĀ ...Ā Ā
In the podcast hosted by Emery Pharma, Dr. Robert Lustig discusses the dangers of ultra-processed foods, arguing that they are not true food but toxins. He emphasizes that calories from different sources are not equivalent, explaining that the body's response to calories varies depending on the food's composition, such as fiber, protein, fats, and sugars. Lustig criticizes the focus on calorie counting, especially concerning sugary drinks, and explains how fructose, unlike glucose, is particularly harmful due to its metabolism in the liver, leading to fat production and mitochondrial dysfunction. He highlights the importance of whole foods and the negative impact of high fructose corn syrup and other sweeteners on health, particularly in causing obesity and other metabolic diseases. Lustig also stresses that while exercise is beneficial, it cannot fully counteract the negative effects of a poor diet rich in ultra-processed foods. The discussion concludes with a call to avoid ultra-processed foods and focus on a diet consisting of real, whole foods for better health and longevity.

boy howdy, I’ve been waiting for this! it’s not just effecting AMP Kinase - it’ll effect every lysine, arginine and cysteine residue it possibly can. TRPA1 is a good example for people with random neuropathy/pain. But it can also bind to those residues in DNA as well! And wouldn’t you know - ā€œlactylationā€ in the last few years coming about, what could that be about? It couldn’t be D-Lactate or Lactoylglutathione, could it? (both are products of methylglyoxal metabolism)

Name any disease you want and Methylglyoxal will likely have a role in it. I’ve seen too many cases of this via the free Pub Med Central database.
