In Alabama we have constitutional carry as well, but I still get my carry permit because of the reciprocity of other states.

Agree 100%. Had mine for a couple of decades in AZ. Besides what Eric pointed out, there is also the benefit that if you come in contact with LE, they know you're not a career criminal!

Avoiding the background check is one perk. Traveling out of state to locations with reciprocity is a better reason.

In Arizona we are Constitutional carry but I got one for traveling and more importantly I learned so much from the class..btw I'm in my 50's, ex military, and have been conceal carry for over 25 years.

Here in Missouri also constitutional carry I've been told a carry permit doesn't allow you to skip the form. We still have to get a background check.

In Texas, you still have to fill in the form, but as with Georgia, you can skip the NICS check. Also, permit holders can carry in some locations that CC doesn’t allow.

In Florida, even with a CCW license, we still have to go through a ridiculous background check every time we buy a firearm even though we are permitless carry now. The only benefit of having a government permission slip is no 3 day waiting period with a CCW.

Another reason is if you travel. Another state may have reciprocity with your state if you have a permit, But not allow you to carry in their state just because your state has constutional carry
