3500 W / 3000 R is weird - usually read is faster than write. The current fastest usb4.0/TB4 is about 2500W and 2000R [Acasis] but rumours are that the next generation of TB4/USB4 will hit 3500 - which is comparable. An enclosure case is $200cdn and $500 for Kingston KC3000 nvme 4t for $700. The case for adding apple ssd (beyond perhaps 500gb for os) is low. Thanks for the test.

So the 512GB is about twice as fast as the 256GB, and from what I've seen, the 1TB is twice as fast as the 512GB...
