That poor sawfish would've suffered terribly if that net stayed tangled in his "saw".
He didn't try to thrash you when you were cutting the net and he didn't come after you when he was free. He knew you were helping him and stayed calm.

I actually gasped when I saw the fish! This is a sawfish and they're critically endangered, with less than 5,000 left in the wild. They used to be common all over the world, but thanks to us can only be found now in two places, even though they're pretty much harmless to humans. These rescuers truly are making a world of difference!
