How to Paint Thermofoil Kitchen Cabinets
You got a new house and it's beautiful, but the cabinets in the kitchen are peeling. What do you do? We've got you covered!
Remove the peeling thermofoil. Use A heat gun to help with that.
2. Clean the cabinets thoroughly: remove any dirt, grease, or residue from the surface with a degreaser.
3. Sand the surface: Use 220 grit sandpaper to create a surface to which the paint will adhere.
4. Prime the cabinets: apply a high-adhesion such as Zinsser Coverstain (oil-based) or an extreme bond primer. This will help the paint adhere better to the surface.
5. Paint the cabinets: use enamel paint, or alkyd-based paint. Apply the paint in thin, even coats and allow it to dry completely before applying a second coat. Sand between coats for the best finish.
6. (Optional) Finish with a clear coat: after the final coat of paint is dry, apply

I thought id be productive and redo my bathroom.. Ha 1 month later.. I hate doing drywall, popcorn ceilings suck who ever invented that crap needs a new hobby!! ๐ Im stuck on cabinets now.. They were white then someone painted them now I've tried stripping them, sanding and everything in between.. Now I'm on to wire brush in my drill..still not pulling off much paint unless i do it rough but then it's gouging the wood about to just go buy new and make a fire with these ones!! ๐ฎ๐
