My wife and I were picking up my brother in law from LA, and it was a same day round trip in vehicle, and im the only driver we make it to LA from san Jo, and now heading back and i get hella tired i can barely keep my eyes open. So i pull into an exxon in bakersfield and me and my wife and her family are sleeping, and then we wake up to a dude screaming bloody murder, and my first instinct is to get the fuck outta there, til my wife sees him running to people asking for help while gushing blood from his chest (where he was stabbed) his arm was sliced up, and his shin had a fat gash in it where you could see the muscle coming out with each step he took, and my wife goes into hero mode and starts taking my belt and my belt is those cloth belts with those little metal holes throughout the belt for unsure sizes. Regardless she uses that as a tourniquet for his leg, i take my shirt and press it into his chest, and than she starts to wrap i think another cloth item wround his leg til the cops and ambulance show up. And thankfully he survived which i didnt think he would cause he was bleeding quite a bit.
We got to meet up with him a few months after to get some dinner. And it was great to see him smiling and alive.
He looked completely different from the day we helped him and the day we saw him recovered.
Im proud of my wife and her hero shit, cause I'm pretty scummy at times and would've left without knowing or caring about the situation

Correction, some belts are absolutely fine to use. Just don't pull it through the loop as shown. They can be serviceable as a strap if you have something to act as your windlass. Just buy a tourniquet though.

I ALWAYS carry 3 kevlar TQ's with an aluminum tension bar, and time tags. A 3 pack of Clot Powder, and vented Chest Seals. Its only overkill until its your life Im saving. You're welcome.
