How do we apply the milk paint to have it adhere to this tricky surface and end up with such gorgeous #oldworldcharm
First, we gave it a cleaning then applied @fusionmineralpaint Ultra Grip. This is amazing stuff. It sticks to most plastics very easily as it is an excellent adhesion primer. Since it dries clear it allows our distress marks to show the original brown wood color. Then, we applied #HomesteadHouseMilkPaint in the colour OCEAN which is a vibrant dark blue. During the application of our specially formulated #milkpaint we used a hairdryer in areas to increase texture and produce cracking to show years of use. To seal it we then applied the SFO in the colour “Natural” followed by Ebony using it as an antiquing glaze. This technique where you simply apply and remove in the areas where we want to show the original bright colour. Takes a day for this to dry. Longer in some areas especially the corners where there was an excess of Ebony. . . #paintedfurniture #oldworldfinish #milkpaintlove #patina #patinafurniture
