what thor is saying is ABSOLUTELY true. theres a few companies in particular that are to blame but essentially when womens pants became more popular, specifically jeans, purse and bag companies got scared. alot of those companies have clothing manufactures under their brand or were partnered with existing clothing brands. very quickly, brands realized it would be advantageous of them to lower the amount of pockets across all womens garments not just pants (dresses, skirts, cover alls, pants, shorts, sweaters). this is also a big reason why designer purses and highly priced bags are even a thing. when ur consumers have no pockets, and no other option, u can start charging more and more and justify it with "fashion".

I used to work retail as a bagger. One day I had some downtime and went and grabbed a bottle of soda. Put the whole thing in my pocket as I returned to my checkout lane and the woman who was working the register stated me down for a moment before quietly muttering “I hate you so much.”
That’s how I learned that woman’s pockets are bad and I accidentally flexed my normal pockets without realizing it.
