In the US, they have a vaccine for dogs. I wonder if this is similar. I have German Shepherds and am going to TX. What people have told me is it won't keep you from needing to get your dog to the Emergency Clinic, it just lessons the severity of the bite, you will have a little more time, you won't need as much anti-venom.
It's kind of like allergies. If you take an allergy medication, you may still have some allergy symptoms, itchy eyes or skin but you won't have swelling, difficulty breathing and welts.
