PSA: Israelites were indentured servants, who were given freedom every half a century, called Jubilee (Exodus 25:10-17). So if Jubilee was tomorrow, every servant was set free (edited explanation).
Gentile slaves on the other hand, were permanent UNLESS they accepted God into their hearts, they were then considered an Israelite indentured servant which means they were set free upon Jubilee (Exodus 12:48-49).
And slaves & servants among the Israelites were treated far more humane than the Canaanite slaves around them (Exodus 21:20-21 as an easy example).
So, does anyone want to continue saying slavery was immoral in the OT? Instead, it was a form of rehabilitation before prisons were even possible due to limits in resources and structure. Seems like a good deal to me.
There's also more rules for women and children, encouraging lack of abandonment and ameliorating familial issues.
This is an example of concessions that point to God's objective standard, but at face value without nuance can seem very problematic. So please everyone, stop spreading misinformation about Ancient Israelite slavery.*

Leviticus 25:39 is the many reason how slavery began. People that were too poor to survive on their own, would offer themselves as servants or slave. People who could afford to support these people would accept. But it clearly says in the entire chapter 25, under God's commandment, NOT to be cruel and take advantage of your slave or hired workers. Obviously, as time went on people disobeyed and took advantage of these poor people.

As a fellow Christian just no....
Like its not fine to accept the world you live in and just take it.
That same mentality allowed Monarchs and other powerful people to supress people for so long.
Stop using the bible to justify these things.
Jesus taught to love others like yourself. You can't love someone if you keep him as a slave/servant

The Roman Empire was notorious for its slavery. The plain sense of the text doesnât mean âindentured servantâ and indentured servitude is still wrong. A human being should never be owned, period. End of story. It doesnât matter what context the person is owned in. Cliffe is ignoring what Paul says about slavery in the context of the Roman Empire and so heâs being intellectually dishonest.

That's how you correct those with insufficient information on Biblical and World History concerning slavery.
