You also just gave the obvious at the start. It was a leader in the last gen years. History shows that every decade the top SP500 companies change. Look at midcap or small cap for your next Microsoft.

It not only has itself buying back stock, but also benefits from the huge inflows into passive index etfs on which it sits at the top. 5-7 years down the road I can still seeing it being at the top of the index and a 6t market cap. With Azure growth it might even justify that valuation. It will not be huge growth, but realistically could cagr over 10% for a long time.

tsmc is the golden short. Not that I would do it, but them and everyone who depends on them as a supplier is tremendously fragile.

I would say it apply to many Nasdaq stocks. So ok Microsoft cannot grow so much more this is another point. But I would not see it by the PE
