I live three blocks away from the greens, I can say this shit is 102% accurate. Every slightly upscale restaurant you go to within a two mile radius is packed with sororities.

Not to mention Yale, is essentially a big reason why new haven, which is literally where I live is so poor. They do absolutely nothing for the city that they take up so much of. They're the reason that rent is so astronomical here. As people want luxury apartments. They keep building more luxury apartments here, instead of actually building housing for the majority of people who live here.
You are so right about how they act about harvard. You should see how it is during a Harvard / Yale game, there are literally like a bunch of fools.

You didnāt mention that Yale rivals only Columbia in terms of being a walled-off fortress to protect its students from the dangerous surrounding community that it has neglected for nearly a century. Whereas Harvardās campus is pretty much completely open for strolling.

I meanā¦youāre allowed to slander Yaleās academic reputation, but for anyone looking for a more nuanced take: our STEM department is smaller, not worse. The student to faculty ratio in STEM, I kid you not, is 2:1. Yale is an amazing place for someone who wants to do engineering while learning on a more personal level. Itās the same reason why YLS is so much better than Harvardās even though there are wayyy more Harvard lawyers out thereāYale accepts the best and Harvard/Princeton take the rest

Something I like to point out whenever it comes up - Yale owns a massive chunk of the property in its city (New Haven) however because of its charter with the city they pay ZERO property taxes. That leaves the rest of the cityās services and infrastructure that are not Yale-affiliated massively underfunded. People in the comments are talking about how the rest of New Haven aside from Yaleās campus is āthe hoodā. Thatās not entirely true to begin with, but the part that is true is only so because of Yale sucking resources away from the rest of the city.
Look no further than New Haven public schools, which are horribly underfunded and underperforming. How can a university that touts itself as one of the most prestigious educational institutions on the planet allow elementary school children half a mile away to go without necessary books, supplies, and staff because the district canāt afford them? Tax Yale.
