I like the ingenuity of these designs, but, the work I do, I have laptop, monitor and all the cables needed for both, I couldnt have a space that didnt have a permanent desk.

Yeah but where is it going when slid away? What other space has been compromised by having to accommodate it when not in use? It's a very long unit.
