The original gives that "Welcome to rougeport" vibe while the remake gives more of a "Welcome BACK" kind of feeling

Original for me, I can appreciate the remake but it's a bit too bombastic for a dingy town like Rogueport for me

I love the remade version as much as the original. The original ofc feels like Rougeport's everyday atmosphere with nothing eventful going on, but the new version sounds like it would play later in the game as a sign of progression, just how the music for Toad Town in The Origami King progressively got better and more lively the more toads you saved.

It’s hard not to say the original just because of nostalgia, but god damn they were cooking with that orchestral version

The remake is soooo good. It definitely sounds like the same musical department from Origami King was involved.

They are both great. The original is nostalgic, but the remake slaps.

Definitely original. Remake sounds inauthentic and too theatrical.

To me, the remake is trying to sound TOO big and epic. The theme of the town and having a grand orchestra playing the theme just feels wrong. Not to say it sounds bad or anything it definitely sounds good but to me it just doesn't quite fit the theme like the original does.

Of course the new one sounds great, but I feel that it is too grandiose compared to the original one; they made the original fit perfectly with the atmosphere

It sounds like I'll play with the music turned down, and I think there's a badge that will allow for the older music.

Both are great, but I think the original is slightly better.

Not familiar with the game, but both sound really nice I gotta slightly give the edge to the remake, those trumpets!

I think I prefer the original; it has this bittersweet undertone that belies the darkness lying underneath the city. Though I agree with another comment that the new would be very nice as a later-game version as a sign of progress, with its more upbeat we-can-do-the-thing atmosphere.

In terms of fitting in the scene, I'd choose the remake. The old one was good, but I don't see it like an overworld main town theme.

Hmm...hard to say. The new version definitely sounds livelier, thanks to the extra instruments and the orchestral feel to it, but the original version seems to have a stronger stage presence, if you will. In other words, it feels more prevalent. So, for now, I guess I'd go with the original.
