it got worse and worse, but at least for the older games you don't need all of those packs to make the game fun (especially stuff packs).

EA made sims 3 generations, which was like 40bucks(one expansion) into like 5 or 6 packs with sims 4 lmao which together is like almost 200 dollars.
Also, don't forget the sims 3 store packs 😅

Not going to lie, I was almost expecting the terrible flute sound effect to play when it got to Sims 4.

Not to mention that TS2 and TS3 both had "store" content, but the TS2 store was unnecessary because the game was fantastic as a standalone and modders did amazing things with it (as they always do). TS3 was laggy as heck, but the store content was good and people found ways to work around the anti-piracy stuff. TS4 is still trying to perfect the "store" model without calling it what it is, and it's poaching content from the community to sink its claws into the CC market, too (because controversies around paywalling CC aren't heated enough I guess?).

I wouldn't even mind The Sims 4's ludicrous amount of DLC if the game were actually FUN. Sims 4 gameplay on youtube is largely restricted to build challenges because even EA's shills can't make this game look enjoyable.

The fact they removed one of the stuff packs for sims 3 is hilarious to me. So only 19 packs are technically available.

And the way both Sims 2 and Sims 3 have more content with 18 and 20 packs than Sims 4 with 70 packs.. 🤢
