The XL-5 rocket looks very much like the spaceships from the early Dan Dare comics. Grandad would collect the Lions, Eagles, etc. and ship them over to little tiddler me by sea post. The artwork in the Dan Dare segments was above ordinary. Alas, like much else, my old comics succumbed to Hurricane Katrina.
