I had SANADA and Shota Umino going through and when it was announced Hikuleo vs Shota was the main event, I thought it was a done deal. BOY WAS I WRONG. What, was fucking Bad Luck Fale not available to fill the "obliagtory big guy who isn't very good but fucks up tournaments anyway" spot so they replaced him with Hikuleo?

IMHO it has been a good booking. SANADA has demostrated his legacy as the World champion by winning every matches. The streak wasn't bad, just take a look to the match with Kaito Kiyomiya for an example. In the other hand, I know that Hikuleo is not a huge name, but honestly, we have to admit that he proved all of his potential. The proof is the matches with the Three Musketeers. And speaking of them, New Japan is saying in few words that they are not ready yet, but they proved their skills in the ring, fighting each others in time limit draw matches.

I dislike Hikuleo, I don’t see what New Japan sees. He’s tall… cool, he’s also limited in the ring and a complete charisma vacuum. Which is weird considering who his dad and brother are.
It’s maddening considering the other choices in A block. Shooter, Ren, Tsuji, Kaito, Gabe… a wealth of talent, guys who can and hopefully will be main eventing Wrestle Kingdom in a few years. And Hikuleo is the guy who goes through to the next round?
Congratulations New Japan, ya blew it.

kaito should have advanced instead of hikuleo. but NJPW wanted to embarrass Noah again so he lost.
