In the right hands, the Ki-61 can be absolutely incredible. Even its bad variants like the Tei are absolute beasts.

Just started using this thing, it’s a slightly different flavour of japan. Sure you can turn and hammer that elevator, but your not the quickest, nor climb the best. Guns are potent but on the slower side.
It feels like a very good reversal plane, not overly good in speed nor turning but just enough to make an enemy commit to a chase to reverse them.
