Huberman has a couple great podcasts delving into the neurological science behind this. I’ve done it, it works!

This is so true, I've heard other docs saying this, and I've been doing it for many years. It heals eye ailments too!

Don’t forget about the beautiful sun rise as well! Moments of “awe” help with brain regeneration and performance.

Best thing about having backyard chickens ( besides the quality egg protein) is the chore task of getting out to them in the morning and evening sun. Great advice.

Thankyou! I’m struggling with being able to sleep… getting only 3-5 hours per night. I’ve know about benefits of early morning sunlight, but haven’t been motivated to get out of bed earlier so I can walk outdoors in the mornings,
But, you’ve motivated me to get up and get moving, so here I go, getting ready to walk outdoors, up & down my street, which will be about a 2 mile, 30 minute walk! It’s chilly outside here in Idaho, so, coat, hat, & gloves are needed. Let’s see how this goes! 😊

Great info. I bet this will help alot. I was always a morning person (4 to 5am) until I got ME/CFS. Now I can barely drag out of bed by 7, my cortisol levels are way off and I have no energy by 10am. I got a sleep disturbance too so I am up for several hours in the middle of the night. Thank you Dr London. I am already trying this.

I never wear sunglasses first thing in the morning while driving to work or sitting out on my back porch getting coffee.
I let my body take in the sun/adjust for that exact reason it lets the body wake up …

This explains why I like sunsets, but it's the sunsets that pirk me up and sun rises that make me tired. Guess I'm a night person?
