Anaesthesists go like: I saved you alot of pain, it's time to give something back 😁

Your videos answer so many aspects of surgery, which helps ease anxiety....I hope when the time comes for my surgery. Thank you Dr. Kavah. The more I learn the better I'm feeling.

I'm a casualty actor for first aid training. The first time an EMT did an actual sternal rub I nearly screamed. Since then I have trainers tell the class beforehand not to hurt the actor on purpose. I am a real human after all and not a practice dummy.

Thank you for taking the time to share so much information that the public needs to know. You constantly grab my attention of issues I’ve never even thought of. God bless you !

My dad recently passed out and was out cold for re 15mins. I did a sternum rub and pulled his ear lobes and nothing. Paramedics were pulling up and he started coming round. But sternum rubs should have gotten a result (after a couple i went 'midevel' on him. He said it hurt later😂) ill keep the jaw thrust in mind. Hope it doesn't happen again

Last surgery I had, they sternal rubbed me to wakefulness. I was not happy.

As a PACU nurse, I have personally performed both. Jaw thrust is my least preferred. I also really hate when anesthesia gives me an unstable patient. Just saying

That pressure point between the ear and jaw is nuts

Sternal rubbing can assist with Opiate overdose…though it’s not always effective…

We used those two techniques as EMTs and paramedics to check level of consciousness in accident or trauma victims.

Heya doc, thank you for your wisdom, which you spread through your videos !!! I totally enjoy them and learn things ALL THE TIME !!! I can only hope you somehow read my comment/ question. You should remake an alternate version, or part 2. In case of Fentanyl or heroin OD, could be extremely important vital information, especially if narcan isn't working

I had a sternal rub and bruising after. But they never told me it was because I wasn't breathing. They just said I was taking too long to wake up

Does the jaw thrust help open the airway in some cases?

Omg!! 😮 I never heard of this before! Is this possibly good information for people to have maybe just in case some crazy situation where someone stopped breathing? I mean would this be something that could save someone until paramedics arrive in some insane situation?
