No need to check,, when you put 6 quarts including filter, 6 quarts will stay inside the engine,, oil doesn't magically disappear,, been doing it for 20 years, never a problem

You dont want the oil moving around, don't start the engine before you know you have the right amount. Be on level ground, don't listen to youtube mechanics if you don't know anything yours
