Why Didn’t Palpatine Train Anakin In The Ways Of The Sith When He Was A Boy?

For a thousand years, the Sith had taken young children and indoctrinated them with their teachings. But Palpatine did not do the same for Anakin and allowed him to be trained by the Jedi. This was a huge gamble for Sidious as if Anbakin had stuck with the light side, Palpatine's plans surely would have been thwarted. But Palpatine saw the rebellious nature of Anakin and knew full well that resentment would grow for whoever took him away from his attachments on Tattooine. If Palpatine had taken Anakin, it is highly likely Anakin would have resented his master and the Sith, rebelling against it. So instead, he allowed resentment to grow for the Jedi, something Palpatine would encourage and ultimately use to turn the Chosen One to the dark side.

It really is a shame Qui-gon died. He would've been the perfect teacher for someone like Anakin

So Palpatine wanted Anakin to think that the Jedi were the bad guys from the Jedi taking him from his mother, forcing him into a war and making him not feel no attachments.

Wa the.. WAIT A MINUTE! The sith also abducted children and were taught in the ways of the sith? No wonder the force created a child that would bring and end to politics in the jedi order!

There is saying in my country: "You want to raise an atheist? Give him harsh lessions of religion."
Palpatine did the same here. He knew that most Jedi were arrogant, self-centered and heartless. It was most probable thing that rebelious and sens8tive boy like Anakin will sooner or later hate them. Of course there was a tiny probability that Anakin will be guided by wise, open-minded and compassionate father figure like Qui-Gon. Actually that's what happened at the beginning. Still Palpatine managed to rig the game in his favour by sending an assassin against Qui-Gon and in the result leaving Anakin under guidance of inexperienced and dogmatic Obi-Wan.

Palpatine sure for perceptive of human nature and crafty. He was right, as Anakin ended up becoming a Sith more as a rejection of the Jedi than because he actually thought anything positive about the Sith.

Well, not to mention if he trained Anakin in the ways of the sith when he was a boy, it would definitely throw up some red flags. See what I did there cuz the sith are always using red anyway to the Jedi council that hey, this guy may not be as good as he says he is

A calculated risk from Sidious, but it definitely paid off. He was right, Anakin's attachments and unconventional nature clashed with the rigid and dogmatic Jedi, and his resentment of them grew, ultimately leading to him betraying them and becoming Vader.

I always thought he did it to mess with the Jedi. Like imagine having the chosen one on your side thinking he’ll destroy your enemies only for him to end up doing the complete opposite. I always thought palpatine knew that would happen and was like “lol that’s so funny”

He knew the Jedi would be big enough assholes to make him turn; also, fatherless behavior made it pretty easy

@Mister_Jay_Tee

Well that and it saved him effort for training.
