I don't know Jordan's work, but I want to say: please ignore the chatter on this thread about those who are saying how bad it is. If Jordan's work has helped you get closer to God, then *you go for it*. As for your detractors, please understand that God lead us *from faith to faith*. That means a little at a time, a step at a time. This gal may not be where you are, but you didn't get to where you are by one big step either. Grow up and rejoice that a YouTube influencer like this pretty lady would be doing a "call out" for Jesus Christ on her channel.

Anyone else notice the contradiction in her words "understanding the Bible for yourself"... Don't get me wrong, I love Jordan Peterson and study Bibles can be very insightful. But at the end of the day to truly understand the Bible you need to stop and think very critically on every virtually every verse, and then (most importantly) pray about it... There's a reason why God tells us to pray hundreds of times throughout the Bible without even actually telling us to read the Bible even once (let alone watch videos on the Bible or read study Bibles), and that reason is because he is decipher for a Bible that is coded (even the King James). There are things you simply will not understand without him, and there are certainly things you need to understand before you call upon him that will be easily missed by anyone trying to make their way through quickly (and this will keep you from being receptive to truth, which is the most common reason you won't get an answer). That being said, if you feel like this is too much dictation I urge you'd find a way with even less over away with more (polarizing brainwashing is commonplace nowadays, so less will tend to be more).

Father Mike Schmitz did an incredible podcast series "The Bible in a Year". I highly recommend it. I am finishing my second listen through it this year.
Reading along has been a game changer.
I would pay so much for a weekly podcast between Dr Peterson and Fr Mike Schmitz. That is what the world really needs.

I get what you’re saying, Billie. If you want a relationship with Christ, you must put effort into it. It depends on you. In the end of the day, it is up to you. I can pray for you and our country, America, can get Christ pilled, before The Lord’s return. Also, you must fellowship with other believers because you can’t go on the Christian journey alone. I never give or recommend to a new Christian the Old Testament. I give New Testaments only, a new Christian should open their Bible and read about Jesus first and after they learn the NT then read the back story of the OT.

The absolute best place to get a broad overview of what the Bible teaches is in the book of Hebrews. It is short and reads like a novel. No fancy language and code words. The book of Hebrews covers every aspect of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in just a few short pages.

Good to see you come to Christ. Don't listen to all these people trying to influence you to believe other things. You will be attacked by non-believers. Don't listen to them. Stay with Jesus, he will protect you and lead you down the right path.

Bible is good. Prayer is better. But Holy Communion/Eucharist/Body of Christ, possibly daily, is essential.

I would caution at least against interpreting scripture based on Jordan Peterson's commentaries. He isn't a Christian and still doesn't believe in the actual Person of God in the Trinity. He still over intellectualizes the Bible and doesn't seem to grasp the spiritual realities in it yet.
Start by simply reading the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all the way through.
