The Rinchen Terzod Chenmo, “The Great Treasury of Rediscovered Teachings”, contains an Empowerments and Oral Transmissions which are being bestow in Rumtek, Dharma Chakra Centre, following the order of the 17th Pal Gyalwang Karmapa Orgyen Thrinley Dorjee to help the flourishing of Buddhadharma, the well-being of all sentient beings, world peace, the long life of the Pal Gyalwang Karmapa and his swift obstacle-free to return to Rumtek Monastery.

This is done in response to the request from Rumtek Monastery a main Seat of Pal Gyalwang Karmapa in exile.

Despite his busy schedule and responsibilities, Kyabje Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, out of his great compassion, has kindly agreed to give the Kawang.

Kyabje Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche started bestowing the Rinchen Terzod Kawang on June 14, 2023.

The Rinchen Terzod Kawang consists of 801 Empowerments and Oral Transmissions, which are condensed teachings and empowerments of Guru Rinpoche. These teachings are given to benefit sentient beings during a degenerate era and were revealed from hidden treasures by treasure revealers.

The participants receiving the Empowerments primarily come from the Himalayan regions of India, Bhutan, and Nepal. They include Lamas, Tulkus, Sangha members, and devotees from various Buddhist sects, both from these regions and abroad. The total number of participants is approximately three thousand.

The Kawang will last a maximum of five months, but it may conclude earlier in four and a half months.

Receiving the empowerments and transmissions brings numerous benefits, such as long life, freedom from obstacles, the fulfilment of one's wishes in accordance with the Dharma, and especially the swift attainment of Buddhahood.

In Rumtek Monastery Kyabje Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche gives around six or seven Empowerments daily, and sometimes four or three Empowerments for shorter sessions.
