You also have to remember to consider the size of your eyes. If you have naturally smaller to medium sized eyes your eyes may seem smaller and disappear more into your face if you get lip filler. I never thought of this before but when considering lip filler was told this by my very respectable aesthetician!

There are lots of varying factors though. In the UK you don’t need a license to inject filler which is why they have an uncanny filler problem. If you go to a good injector and get a very minimal amount done, it can look great. Especially for people with volume loss from aging who want their natural lips back.
I saw a plastic surgeon on here who said most people don’t need more than 1 ml of filler for their entire face, whereas most injectors start with 1-2 mls for ONE area such as the lips.

I stood and argued for 10mins about how much I wanted. I wanted half a dose spread between upper and lower (I had thin lips and top lip being especially thin). I am SO glad I stood my ground. I love my lips now. They are perfect and as a petite woman with strong facial structures big puffy lips would have looked ridiculous but just a little light filler made such a difference. I'm so glad I didn't let the tech talk me into more. It had nothing to do with cost (was honestly like $50 more to get full dose if I remember) and everything to do with id considered filler for probably 10yrs and I knew what I wanted. So stand your ground folks and don't get talked into something you don't want because at the end of the day it's your body, not anyone else's.

As someone in their 40s who didn’t get it done till I was 37 I will tell you the BIGGEST issue is finding a decent doctor. Nurses are great for other services but I only trust my actual plastic surgeon with my face. I still have lip filler. It can last between 2-5 years depending. I also notice a huge difference if I’m not drinking enough water; my lip filler has hylauronic acid in it.

I have a friend who gets lip fillers every now and then. First time I saw her after that I was like "something is different", but I wasn't too sure what it was. She wore no make up, so that wasn't it. She later told me she'd gotten lip fillers and I then took a closer look at her lips. It was done so subtle that it looked just natural. It CAN be done in a way that appears natural. Problem is, if you want something that's FAR from your natural lip, then it will probably also look very unnatural and weird. The other problem though, of course, is migrating fillers and not fully dissolved fillers. THAT is another story.
