The Platters. One of the BEST groups EVER! Tony Williams was smoother than silk and I believe underappreciated. He's one of the greatest singers I've ever heard.

My dad who died in 1989, never liked music, but he loved two songs. "I left My Heart In San Francisco" and "The Great Pretender". Make me tear up when I hear this song, miss my dad so much.

This was the first Platters song I heard 50 yrs ago, the memorie's of that time come flooding back.
I wish this style of music came back, it is soooo romantic, my heart fills with joy when I hear any songs

Such a wonderfully constructed song from the 50's. The lead singer and back up singers have such a wonderful blend so skillfully done! The song has such a good story line to it too! I think they created a masterpiece!
