Been in the Midwest most of my life, collision repair by trade! My advice to everyone that’s driving a new vehicle in the saltbelt or anywhere else is buy a product called cavity wax and coat the insides of your frame and body panels. Coat the outside of your frame too! You’ll burn through about 20 cans! I use the 3M stuff 👍🏻

I'm on my 10th vehicle living in new england. Been driving since 1994. I've had Jeep Dodge Toyota and 7 chevrolet silverados . The one I have now is a 22 2500hd I've had it undercoating twice. 51,000 miles so far very minimal rust. All my previous vehicles have had heavy rust within 3 years.

Easy fix. Done 5 of those front and back so far. Just make sure to drown the innards of the frame when your done with your favorite rust proofing, then do it once a year after and you'll be better off.
