I lowkey think Black Widow and Eternals are underrated. To me, the phase 4 movies were just decent, not great but enjoyable, except L&T, that was dogsh*t, but I prefered the shows over the movies

Y'know, one of my least favourite things about fandoms on the internet is this weird kind of reverse recency bias concept where it apparently becomes cool to dump on good things after a certain period of time, and NWH is one of the plainest examples I've seen of it.
When the movie first dropped, virtually everyone was united in agreement that not only was it absolutely NOT carried by nostalgia, but it was a prime example of how nostalgia and fanservice can actually coexist with and enhance an already strong script. Returning characters were there for a reason and actually had growth alongside the main cast, despite some of them having been away from their roles for almost two decades; they were far more than just cheap cameos.
So it honestly frustrates me a little to now see so many people trying to say it was "just nostalgia" and basically belittling their own previous (stronger) arguments just so they can have a reason to put the movie down; I swear a lot of these people seem to think that disliking everything grants them some kind of critical integrity
