I am a black African Muslim, for me, I can say there's extensive racism among Muslims, especially white Arab Muslims. I am saying this because I experienced it when I wanted to marry a white arab Muslim girl, this thing is really and they don't care that I am Muslim, they refuse to marry that girl because I am black. I highly honor & respect Mufti Menk. Humbly, & respectfully may I comment on Racism? Please forgive me for any errors. I am not arguing. I studied in school 20 years ago from a Cultural Anthropology class auditing as grade school kid (I took a Stanford Class in Summer of my grade 6).. The definition of racism is basically OPPRESSION of financial (yes, FINANCIAL freedom & well being in finances). I.e. making one POOR financially. For example deny land to grow food, deny entrance to college education, deny travel in bus, planes, use of toilet etc
On the other hand ABUSE is different than RACISM.
Abuse is deny your 30 you daughter marriage because the guy is not a doctor but clerk at Meirs Grocery, marry a non-Muslim blond girl while forbid your sister a blond non-Muslim guy.. etc
Thus ABUSE is emotional or physical INJUSTUCE. Racism is under injustice too but financial.
Now, to your Indian BROWN son marrying the Malawi BLACK girl. Both Muslims.
But on earth.. how did they meet each other?
Why not Malawi marry Malawi & Indian to Indian? It can happen if you are minority Muslim & have no other Muslims around.
Marriage is deeper than skin color
Both are police officers, firefighters, teachers, lawyers, scientists, computer engineers, doctors.. Yeah go ahead if Muslim & LOVE each other.
However, make sure parents agree (to best of ability).
Only an insane parent would stop if both (like Mufti said) have same nobility, same religion, similar education etc & wants to get married to build a a Muslim Family.
Once, they marry ..DO NOT CAUSE PROBLEMS. Marriage in first years is the hardest. It is Haram/Sin.
I personally like white married to white, brown to brown, black to black.. because do not want to loose the beautiful diversity. Every race has ravishingly beautiful girls & handsome boys.
Must confess was once attracted to pure beauty from Sudan. But, left het to a Sudanese brother. Control self for the higher purpose. She will be happier with own skin (literally).
But, exceptions happen & let it be...

I think even interfaith marriage can be okay if the circumstances are such to provide each the religious respect and life that meets the requirements for them to each follow their faith. Many times one partner converts long before the other and some never do yet it was all part of the creator's plan.

That's a biggest problem amongst desi people. If they are not financially well or not similar like thier family.they will never give the permission to marry their children.
