why does no one talk about the real downside of these products.. i redid my back deck in trex and never realized the 2 worst things are they get hot as fuck in the summer and any bit of pollen/mildew and they turn into a ice rink.

LOL because I have personally gone to all of these climates and TESTED this product!!! I’ve been in Alaska during a blizzard when my whole deck was covered in 8 feet of snow and believe me the channel is still clear!!

I've used the product once. Won't be using it again, unless the house side is covered for at least 4 -6 ft out. Had to do a crazy amount flashing and Lexel near the ledger board so that the deck wouldn't leak into the screened in porch below with driving rain. Doesn't matter how much slope you have, if it's raining sideways (towards the house) this system will fail at the ledger board. You've been warned.
