To have an awakening you must be pretty close and as the sun god died luffy died too which allowed him to awk his devil fruit therefore being on the vergebof death its possibke he couldve awakened it

I don't think he would be able to save cause IMU have been stalking luffy and if luffy used gear 5 I'm sure that IMU and others would be there which could make the situation even worse as they are after Luffys devil fruit and shanks may have to intervene same goes for dragon which would potential end the whole series

Not true, he would be able to save Ace. You forget that the pirates also had some crazy strong characters like Whitebeard,Marco,Jimbei, and the rest of Whitebeards crew. And you have to remember that now that Luffy has Advanced conquers Haki, he would be able to make most Marines pass out, I really think Ace would be alive.
