If you're attending (and the club is well run) you're going to get better. That's just how training works with anything, be it music, mathematics or a sport. Some people will have a more optimal mindset and/or physical tools ofc and progress faster, but you'll inevitably progress if you're putting in work.

I’m not even 3 months into BJJ I’m about to have my first competition in 2 weeks at Jiu Jitsu World League. I don’t even have 1 stripe. So this is about to be interesting when I go and win gold in no-gi Masters. It’s definitely a blast. 🙏

So approximately how much time you need to get the first stripe? I have been training for 4 months consistently and I feel so much more comfortable rolling with people better than me.

I got two stripes at once. I done some mma before Bjj so on promotion night I received two. I really enjoy the process, stripes or not

I’m trying to learn I’ve dropped 300lbs after my gastric sleeve surgery but I have long covid my blood oxygen levels drop hard with any kind of exercise so I where an air compressor backpack but a lot of gyms won’t work with me because of it I’m going to learn one way or another I’m 40 and had to learn a whole new way of living after Covid it’s been 4 years and I’m fighting to get my life back.

I respect coaches like you. But I think the whole system is not fair towards introverts like me. I showed up for a long time, worked hard, did exactly as I was told but didn’t get a stripe until I made a point to shoot the sh*t with the instructor. It was uncomfortable but he would never recognize me if I didn’t. Idk I think it’s messed up.
