Hello Mentour Pilot… I love the channel & your content is superb… I’d like to make a quick recommendation or ask a question really… Just so it’s easier for us lazy people, can you put a link to the actual video on the channel? I get at least two notifications for every main video you upload! Adding what equates to just another notification of the same content I’ve already seen is taking the piss!
So sadly I will deselect notifications and perhaps look at your content occasionally and catch up and ignore shorts because having to cancel three notifications every time is just SPAM and I don’t tolerate that!

If I recall they were having trouble slowing down and because SFO has some congested airspace, the typical approach requires quick configuration changes. And while they were trying to sort themselves out they let the airspeed decay and were in danger of stalling so they couldn't try and stretch their descent.
The cause was related to poor CRM, poor energy management, poor procedures, poor manual aircraft handling skills, and insufficient crew rest.
Unrelated to the cause of the crash, the SFO crash/fire/rescue folks need to do a better job identifying victims in an incident like this so they don't drive over any.
The biggest takeaway for me is the 777 is feakin' bulletproof! In almost every serious mishap it's been involved in the vast majority of the crew and passengers walk away from what would have completely destroyed most other aircraft.

There were many more lessons learned from this mishap than when to initiate a go around. Principal among these was lack of pilot knowledge and understanding of various automation modes. The other main problem was cockpit crew management. The captain was the chief pilot and was the pilot flying. The first officer was intimidated from noting to the captain that there was an obvious problem with engine thrust mismatching that required for the current phase of flight (final approach, power in idle thrust). Korea is a hierarchical culture. I learned early in my airline career that the captain may have four stripes, but the book has five. If in doubt, say something! If the captain doesn't respond, DO SOMETHING!
