How to face them 👇
I wish my clients knew how friggn common these struggles are, especially if you are a female ADHD / neurodivergent entrepreneur
1. ARSD (Anticipatory Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria): The Silent Saboteur
Do you chicken out saying/doing/posting something because you fear criticism or judgment? Even before you even do a thing?
Anticipatory Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (ARSD) describes an intense emotional response to the anticipation of rejection or criticism. Individuals with ADHD who experience ARSD may develop a hypersensitivity to the perception of being rejected or criticized, even before any actual rejection occurs. This keeps you small, stuck, and silent.
There have been so many posts/ideas/videos/offerings/meditations that I tossed in the trash because I think they aren't good enough or would be "too weird" for others.
2. The Filter Dilemma: A need to use filters on pics & videos
The constant need to be "presentable" "fit" or 'perfect' especially online can lead to you feeling imprisoned by an unrealistic standard and a "need" to use filters or edit yourself. What if you unmasked your true self and let authenticity and raw realness show?
Contrary to what you may think, imperfections (aka humanness) and authenticity build stronger connections. It makes you more relatable and more real.
Yeah, I use filters from time to time (because the iPhone camera pics up every damn pore and wrinkle I never knew I had). And a growth edge of mine is showing up even if I have a bad skin or hair day.
3. Perfecting Before Posting
Hate it when you spend 2 hours on a reel and it gets no views but the shitpost you spent 10 secs on is your highest-performing post??
Constantly refining ideas and overthinking even the smallest hashtag delays progress and momentum. Acknowledge the fine line between striving for excellence and being held captive by the unattainable goal of perfection.
I still get stuck overthinking copy, hashtags, and little shit that no one else notices but me.
Challenge:
Next time you create something (art, video, blog post, etc), name 3 positive or neutral things about your creation that you appreciate.
Say/post/share your creation. Don't use a filter. Tag me in your post.
Let's see what happens.
