Ingredients ๐Ÿ:
300g pasta (your choice: spaghetti, penne, fusilli... etc) ๐Ÿ
150g prosciutto, sliced into strips ๐Ÿฅ“
1 large onion, thinly sliced ๐Ÿง…
3 cloves garlic, minced ๐Ÿง„
2 tbsp olive oil ๐Ÿซ’
1 cup white wine ๐Ÿท (or chicken broth for no alcohol) ๐Ÿ—
2 cups vegetable broth ๐Ÿฒ
1 cup heavy cream ๐Ÿฅ›
1 tbsp butter ๐Ÿงˆ
1 tsp dried thyme ๐ŸŒฟ
Salt and pepper to taste ๐Ÿง‚
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated ๐Ÿง€
Fresh parsley, chopped ๐ŸŒฟ
Red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat) ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ
Instructions ๐Ÿณ:
Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the prosciutto ๐Ÿฅ“ and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

In the same pot, add butter ๐Ÿงˆ and olive oil ๐Ÿซ’. Add the onion ๐Ÿง… and cook for 5 minutes until soft and golden brown. Add the garlic ๐Ÿง„ and sautรฉ for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the white wine ๐Ÿท (or chicken broth) and let it reduce for 2-3 minutes.

Add the broth ๐Ÿฒ and bring to a boil. Toss in the pasta ๐Ÿ, stir well, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Stir in the heavy cream ๐Ÿฅ› and thyme ๐ŸŒฟ, then let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Season with salt ๐Ÿง‚, pepper, and red pepper flakes ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ if you like some heat!

Add the crispy prosciutto ๐Ÿฅ“ back into the pot. Stir in Parmesan ๐Ÿง€ and fresh parsley ๐ŸŒฟ for a burst of flavor!
