Little trick I found when working with contact paper, using a nail file on an angle at the edges and scraping downwards will create a super feathered edge that will almost never lift

This isn't "renovation"..... It's a cheap facelift otherwise known as "the landlord special". Contact paper is not actually a way to replace the veneer.

Love it I think I'm going to do the same thing with my countertops.
where did you get the contact paper at?? And is that all there is to prepping the countertop just wiping it down or do you need to wipe it with a little bit of sandpaper?

I'm just saying back in the early nineties when I first started out in my first apartment I lived there for 9 years and I did that to my counters and it held up the entire time I lived there just one area where my husband had cut fruit on the counter instead of using a cutting board so there were a couple of cut marks in it but other than that it held up really well I do agree with using the construction adhesive on the bottom side of it though I don't know about her countertops but mine had a rough surface underneath and it wouldn't stick

Dang girl, you are good. You should of seen the job I did. It's super funny bc I never finished it. It was in the bathroom so everyone saw it. I gave up so it was Shredded wallpaper and contact paper on the sink. Embarrassing.
