To pile in the car, at the drive-in movie
Cars would get in a line, and pay at the booth
It’s hard to believe, but, I’m telling the truth
Fit as many people, as you could in the car
The price was the same, I know, how bizarre!
Out in the front, for all to see
We’re names of movies, on a huge marquee
Cars would park, in concentric rows
By poles with speakers, placed on car windows
Before start of show, kids would yell and say
“Let’s go to the playground”, “Up in front, okay?”
All the while, on the giant screen
Commercials for food, could always be seen
Giant hotdogs, and flavored pop
Were being offered, in the drive-in shop
10 minutes to showtime, screen countdown displayed
With each new minute, new commercial was played
The sun has now set, the movie’s about to proceed
Turn up sound on speaker, we’re all ready indeed
Such fond memories, I have as a child
At the drive-in movie, a fun time so wild
