You know, I’m just now learning at that Durango’s have three timing chains. What the hell because my mother has a Durango that’s actually my stepdad‘s and he even admitted that he regrets not checking it before he buys it and he buys it and after paying for some parts put on there it starts overheating real bad and apparently the mechanic or the owner previously that was selling the car or was working on the car before had enough mechanic experience he took the thermostat out and, when my stepdad went to go put a new thermostat in it it caused the head gasket to bust and right now he wants to get it fixed but he doesn’t know if there’s something else wrong but in my experience, you’re not gonna know unless you dive into it and I’ve told him I’m like well just take it apart and if it’s that bad, then you put it back together and then you take it to the garage or you just parted out and get your moneys worth but it was not that bad I’m pretty certain Derek on vice grip garage could fix it in the driveway and have it run in within 10 minutes you can give a horse water, but you can’t make him drink it. I don’t know why, but this man will not let me touch it. Then I can easily take it apart and figure out if the block is cracked or if it’s something else, then just ahead and if he needs just a head gasket, then wire brush it and clear off the gasket area and put a new one on from what I seen but apparently it’s more complex than that it’s got three time and chains in it and you have to buy the tool and it’s like $100 in order to do it the machine shop that we take all of our cars to to get them inspected and worked on and everything they want to charge us $1000 in case they have the machine down the heads and I seriously am sitting here thinking it cannot be that damn bad where you have the machine down the heads, but how’s anybody gonna know unless you dive into it
