I remember one time when I was a server and I had a table of 4 grandmother age ladies. All had hair as white as snow and they each asked for a glass of wine. I obviously knew they were over 21 but I still asked the ladies, "if I could see their ID's because you never know what kids do now a days try to trick us. For all I know everyone here could be a teenager with a cane and a white wig." They were all giggling and some tried to dig through their purse to find some form of id. I then said, " Well I don't normally do this but I will let it slide just this once, but try to act cool when my boss is around." The smile on all their faces made my day and when they finished their meal and left I got a mighty big tip and a thank you note.
