That’s it man. Master those three and you should get off a high percentage shot against MOST players on a consistent basis. Once you start to develop a change up of speed for the moves—and develop at least one good counter for each—you should be able to get your shot off against even experienced and high level defenders. That usually takes a few years of consistency; however, focus on adding one of these moves per year, and in three years you could have all three of those down pat at a functional level. You will be glad you did! If you are a perimeter player—don’t be afraid to substitute the hook with a jump shot.

These are great moves. Only thing that I did or not do is take the dribble. I understand using it to create space or get defensive moving but I liked to make sure I had that left if for whatever reason there was defensive help or the shot wasn’t there. But that was me and I rarely needed it. Quick first movement would do the job.

My guide to post moves: (pls share opinion)
1) If they like, leaning on me, just do quick spin and get free layup .-.
2) If i can, i just post dribble to the front of the rim to get a open layup
3)if they cut me off and are infront of the rim, i go a bit to the side to do a hook
4) if they instead of going infront of the rim go to the middle, do the drop step
5) if i go to the middle to do a hook and they get ready to block i do what this guy called a up & under (its a step throught)
6) if they didnt fall on my pump fake of the step throught, pivot to the middle and do the open layup( caution with travels)

Up and Unders are so useful when your opponent is going for a block.
