I love all the “ahistorical” sci-fi and fantasy board games in the background. A very good contrast.

To a portuguese speaker, it's basically portuguese with an Italian accent.

in Polish, we also pronounce similar to classical Latin, however both "a" are short

This is great to hear this exquisite language being spoken as in conversation. I studied Latin at school. Use it mainly for my gardening now. 😊
Oh and you look great in costume.

Same as in Romanian except that the stress is on O and all the vocals are equal lenght. Gladiator.

It's almost the same in Czech, spelled "gladiátor", "á" telling you to do a longer sound on that vowel.

Except for the İ becoming a palatalisation Y-sound and lacking long vowels, the Polish pronunciation is very much identical.

Can you explain the "centurion"?

In Romanian, we say ''gladiator'' but the stress is on the the last syllable.

I like your costume !! Bravo. I noticed that the Sicilian accent is closer to latin than modern italian accent.

In Bulgarian we say it the same without, but without elongating the a, the same with imperator

In Slovak we use the vowel length as well, so we pronounce it similarly, except the stress is on the first syllable.

In Slovak, it is pronounced the same, with the second a long (á, gladiátor), except the stress is on the first syllable - as in all our words.

hm, it's not difficult if the long vowel is stressed. the difficult part is when you have unstressed long vowels, especially multiple long vowels in a single word

There is a small family hotel in Romania with an incredible street address:

Alba Iulia, Via Gladiatores, at the 3rd Gate of the Citadel.

Ah, very interesting! I had guessed stress would fall on the final O

easy, that's how we say it in Austria anyway, might have to do with being the direct northern neighbor of Ancient Rome.
