We have been 3 Margaritaville cruises And absolutely loved it! We are scheduled to go on the Margaritaville islander sailing out of Tampa for 7 days and we are so excited! My husband is a veteran and They have the heroes sail free deal that got us the 7-Day cruise for free (We just had to pay the fees) 🙌

The Margaritaville at Sea Paradise was built in 1991 as the Costa Classica for Costa Cruises. There were plans to lengthened the ship in 2000, but the scrap yard that was planned to lengthened the ship have gone bankrupt. So the 45,000 ton piece was scrapped. Later in 2014, she was renamed the Costa neoClassica. And later in 2018 she was transferred to the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines and renamed the Grand Classica. And in 2022, she is named the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise till this day.

Those of us that have cruised a long time with Royal, Celebrity and NCL would probably be highly disappointed. I think for a first timer it could be fun. Once you’ve done especially Royal this is probably depressing lol. I’d rather pay a little more to be on a beautiful ship. Just paid $580 for the utopia outside room later this year. Keep an eye out certain sailings are a steal! I wouldn’t come on this for $400 like most sailings and the fuel charges no cruise line but theirs charges. This is a ferry compared to that lol. Save a little more and get the real experience.

I've done both the Paradise and the Islander. I definitely prefer the Islander (we did a 4-night cruise) but my 2 nights/3 days on the Paradise was an absolute delight. Yes, the ship is older and a bit dated but overall both experiences were quite enjoyable respites. On both ships, the buffet were pretty good and the the main evening dinners were delightful, thanks to the staff, as always. The entertainment and evening shows on both ships were quite entertaining (more so on the Islander). But what I absolutely love the most were the wonderful service staff. They work their gluteals and provide some darn great service! Yes, Margaritaville cruises isn't a top tier cruise experience for hundreds more but for the price and the good destinations, I give the Paradise a solid B and the Islander a solid B+. You want a short 3 to 5-day, very reasonably priced cruise for a little fun in the sun getaway? You'll be quite pleased with Margaritaville.
