Once you cut that, the disk is unbalanced and can violently and rapidly disassemble itself and any object unfortunate to be in its way when it does.

Making stuff from cut off wheels is a good way to have one come apart and loose an eye ! Never modify cut off wheels or grinding wheels !!!!!
