Meet the DR01, a humanoid robot with a knack for learning by doing.
Much like a person who learns best through hands-on practice and trial and error, the DR01 adapts to new situations by adjusting and refining its movements in real-time.
China-based startup Deep Robotics just released footage of the AI robot, showcasing its capabilities in rugged environments. The video captures DR01 nimbly navigating uneven terrain, balancing on steps, and even maintaining stability when pushed around. When DR01 does occasionally slip, it quickly corrects itself, demonstrating a unique blend of resilience and adaptability.
Deep Robotics is positioning the DR01 as a contender against the Tesla Optimus.
Standing 1.7 meters, or 5'6", the robot uses a sophisticated learning algorithm called fusion perception to navigate dynamic settings. The DR01 combines its own sensory data with real-time environmental information, adapting its movements based on its surroundings.
Founded in 2017, Deep Robotics is also known for its line of quadruped robots, like the X30 and Lite3, designed for rugged tasks such as industrial inspections, search and rescue, and navigating complex terrain.
The company debuted its humanoid at the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing. With DR01, Deep Robotics is exploring the possibilities of embodied intelligence, bringing adaptability and learning directly into the environments where these robots might one day assist in tasks that require steady movement and stability across unpredictable surfaces.

I'm telling you right now if you combine AI with quantum computing these robots will get sentience. They will become aware and that is when it will get interesting
