I was recently in the hospital, admitted from the emergency room. I had been sick for 7 monthd and had a pulmonary edema. While I was in the hospital, the lady from the business office came to my room and told me, "the emergency room accepts your insurance, but the hospital does not. How to you plan to handle this bill. I told her I planned to ignore it.

it's crazy that a company has not only the audacity...but the right to tell a patient that they don't agree with a Doctor's prescribed road to health.
BUT it's ALSO crazy the difference in listed expenses between an insured itemized medical bill and one without insurance
our whole medical system needs to be revamped, and the only way to get that ball rolling is to get rid of the corruption that is corporate lobbying

Insurance will question the procedure, the type of med used and the cost.
Many dont realize a dr can charge what ever they want to the point of being ridiculous, order unnecessary testing and procedures, and hospitals can charge ten times the cost of an aspirin where as insurance can cap those costs.

I would change drug restrictions. Doctors are so scared to prescribe benzos and opioids these days. It’s to the point were people really need those compounds but can’t get them legally so they turn to bad routes

As a middle aged woman of color... insurance is a sure thing to change, but even when I have access or find affordable care, the providers/prescriptions/research aren't based on my specific needs.
