I avoid those peak hours like the plague. I try to do everything non-peak, including using the oven and electric appliances. No dryer in the summer - all hung outside.

We don’t have peak hours in my area. I run my dishwasher when we go to bed anyways.
I would definitely take advantage if I could! Thanks for the video

That's great, except in the UK off peak hours are between 10pm and 8am, or some suppliers it's 12:30am to 4:30am. My neighbours, would not be impressed, and there's no way I'm disrupting my sleep time to do laundry 😂
And if you're wondering why my neighbours would be bothered, it's because many houses here are like shoeboxes crammed together, 3 sides of my house is a shared wall with 3 neighbours. I dream of a detached house one da

With peak hours you have net metering. Solar utilises the net metering program and solves this problem of paying more than you should for electricity. All without having to sacrifice comfort for what times the utility gods say you can and cannot use your power. You just need good sun exposure and own the home to switch.

Our utility company is switching to peak hours.......3 pm to 6 pm is the hours you don't want to use electricity. So I am already in the habit of running stuff in the morning or at night. I usually throw a load in before bed.

I have peak on weekends so I usually wash on Saturday. I don’t use the dryer much at all any more because I hang outside or I have huge dryer racks if I need to dry indoors.

You can also have someone gifted in math to find out the powerfactors of these circuits. Hopefully they are on a dedicated circuit, it will make it easier to calculate..once a capacitor is found lead the voltage by a 3/4 wave and it will save money and preserve the wiring in the motor by keeping the voltage high and amperage low🎉, your welcom

Maybe get a battery and store some electricity? You can also sell back some and make money.

I checked on that a couple of years ago with my electric company and there's no peak hour chargers or anything. I need to check again to make sure nothing is changed.

They can only tell the amount of electricity you use, not the time of day you use electricity.

In our province, from 7pm till 7am and all day on weekends and holidays, are the low cost periods for electricity usage.

I don’t think you understand that most washers cost max $23 a year to run, it’s not that deep

We have solar. We can run the washing machine and dishwasher and still be sending electricity back to the grid.
