That's easier said than done in the US where my immigrant ancestors are spread across several states, each of which is about the size of a Scandinavian country, much less back "home" in Norway, Denmark, and Scotland. Add to that, there are ancestors of blood of course, but also ancestors of place, and ancestors of ideas or worldview. On Samhain, I ritually recited names from my research, and symbolically took my place as the trusted keeper of those to share with my children.
