Thereβs a big difference between using the truth as a weapon and using the truth as a point of understanding and clarity. As a Christian I know Iβm a sinner, I know Iβm not worthy of Heaven without Jesusβ sacrifice, I know all of these things, but I also know that these things arenβt told to me to cut me down and hurt me and minimize me. Iβm told these things in order to understand Godβs love for me, to understand the sacrifice Jesus made and to be eternally grateful knowing that even though Iβm a sinful mess I am forgiven time after time after time.

Ironically its their theology that's toxic, as it takes the burden of salvation off of Christ and places it on the believer. By saying that we are enough to ANY extent, it makes our salvation depend on how "good" we are. Thus, we become abuse victims to the world. Dependent on its ever changing approval and whims.
Christianity is not a power grab, as that would imply God needs to gain more power. Rather, it is a power ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. It is submitting yourself to the FACT THAT the God of the Bible is the all powerful all knowing all loving creator of all. We are not to submit ourselves in self-hatred, as abusers want their victims to do, but self-neutrality. Repenting of our sins because we love God, not because we hate ourselves. As self-hate is still self-obsession. That is all. God bless you and your ministry as always!

I have no problem with a Christian or other religious person claiming that they believe some dogma is true. I do have a problem when they claim to know that dogma is true. I understand that you can feel very very very sure that something you believe is true, but that is not enough for someone else to rationally accept your belief as probably true.
